SINGER ISLAND — Recent British Open champ Rory McIlroy just splurged on some more Palm Beach County real estate!
It’s yet another Gossip Extra exclusive: World No. 1 McIlroy, who already owns adjacent properties in Palm Beach Gardens, spent $2 million cash on a 10th floor penthouse at Ocean’s Edge at Singer Island, 5050 North Ocean Drive.
Records show the deal for the 3,100-square-foot, three-bedroom condo was finalized by McIlroy, who now appears to be Tiger Wood‘s new BFF, in June.
The seller was Lawrence Bivona, founder of Kid Brands furniture stores, who wanted $2.5 million.
McIlroy, who’s playing in the FedEx Cup in New Jersey today, couldn’t be reached for comment.
The golfer has spent $13.75 million on Palm Beach area properties in less than two years.
At Christmas 2012, he started with a $9.5 million waterfront mansion in the Old Gate neighborhood of Palm Beach Gardens as well as the vacant property next door, sold to him for $2.25 million.
