SOUTHWEST RANCHES — Movie action hero Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson just signed a contract to buy a giant, $5.5 million-Broward County spec house, Gossip Extra has learned.

The wrestler and star of Tooth Fairy and Fast & Furious 7 picked a 13,700-square-foot, five-bedroom, six-car garage crib in the fancy neighborhood of Landmark Ranch Estates in Southwest Ranches, just west of Fort Lauderdale, according to two real estate sources who asked not to be identified.

Dubbed Pietra D’Oro (golden stone in Italian), the house at 16715 Berkshire Court is scheduled to be finished in May and is being built by spec builder Landmark Custom Homes. It’s on 2.5 acres of land.

“He’s got a place in Los Angeles, but Dwayne was raised in Broward and he’ll always be a Broward guy,” said a source close to The Rock.

Johnson, 41, bought an older but equally large house on Berkshire Court last year for $3.45 million but sold it in April at a steep loss, for $3 million, according to county records.

His new place, built in contemporary Mediterranean style, is advertised as “an architectural masterpiece showcasing refined elegance amidst the backdrop of its peaceful town and country surroundings.”

Johnson’s new neighbors include Dany Garcia, his ex-wife, and NFL stars Brandon Marshall and Devin Hester, both from the Chicago Bears.

I’m told Johnson already put down $2 million cash on the new house.

He can afford it: He was named 2013’s top-grossing actor. His movies made a total $1.2 billion!
