The bodies of little Alexandra Brooks and her troubled mother, Pamela Brooks, were riddled with cuts caused by someone who wielded a knife, West Palm Beach Police say.
In a press release published this afternoon, police offered new details about the shocking deaths in a house on Gregory Place, in the affluent south side of West Palm Beach.
The bodies of the 10-year-old and her mother, 48, were discovered late Thursday after the child’s father, painter Brad Brooks, who was divorced from the mother, called police after they failed to show up for his Tuesday visitation.
That was the day Alexandra was supposed to celebrate her birthday!
Police also revealed there was no evidence of forced entry at the residence. Officers had to break open a door after they spotted Pamela’s lifeless body by looking through a window.
While autopsy results are pending, police have not determined the cause of death and say they’re not actively looking for a suspect.
Gossip Extra broke the story yesterday: Pamela Brooks suffered from acute alcoholism that caused Brad to attempt to gain full custody of his daughter.
