Former Miami Dolphins receiver Chad Johnson was arrested about 10:30 a.m. today in Fort Lauderdale when a court hearing at the Broward County courthouse turned out nasty for the out-of-work NFLer.
Johnson, 35, appeared before a judge with Adam Swickle, his attorney, after an arrest warrant was issued earlier this month.
The baller is accused of violating the conditions of his one-year probation for allegedly roughing up his ex-wife, reality TV star Evelyn Lozada, in 2012.
The judge just decided Johnson did wrong by not showing up for two visits with his probation officer, and not registering for domestic violence counseling.
Johnson was arrested and handcuffed by three Broward County Sheriff’s deputies on-the-spot!
An avid Twitter machine, Johnson last tweeted Thursday from, he claimed, Pasadena, Calif.
He stopped giving news after the arrest warrant became public — and quietly returned to Florida over the weekend.
He is currently being processed, fingerprinted and photographed at the Broward County lockup, where he is to remain until he pays his $1,000-bond.
Johnson, who also played for the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals, was bounced from the Fins’ training camp in August after he was nabbed during an incident at home in Davie.
Johnson was accused of hitting Lozada during a dispute over his purchase of condoms. He escaped a prison sentence after agreeing to strict supervised release.
