Who, me? Radio and TV talker Steve Harvey and his bodyguard were questioned by PBSO deputies Sunday in connection with vandalism in the parking lot of the showgrounds in Wellington (Special to Gossip Extra)

flag-exclusiveRadio and TV host Steve Harvey and his bodyguard have been questioned by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies in connection with a strange act of vandalism in Wellington!

Harvey, 56, host of one of the country’s top morning radio programs and TV’s Family Feud, is spending weekends rooting for his 15-year-old, horseback-riding daughter Lori. The teen competes in the Winter Equestrian Festival’s show jumping competition.

But on Sunday at the showgrounds, Harvey and his muscle/chauffeur were approached by a deputy investigating a crime.

Witnesses claim they spotted someone matching the bodyguard’s description near a parked, year-old Ford Fusion that was mysteriously keyed Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: Arrest warrant to be issued

Deputies caught up with them near the tent where his daughter preparing for her competition.

“Steve just sat in a golf cart and wasn’t talking much,” a source at the stadium tells me. “The deputy talked mostly with the bodyguard.”

PBSO officials acknowledged the existence of an investigation into vandalism at the showgrounds parking lot but aren’t releasing details because the probe is continuing.

A law enforcement insider tells me a photo lineup with the drivers license of Harvey’s security man is planned for later this week.

Whoever scratched the car down to the metal on both sides, the trunk and the entire hood could be charged with a felony!

The owner of the car is an amateur show jumping rider who has yet to be identified by PBSO. It is unclear whether the alleged victim has decided to press charges.

The incident could be related to a dispute over a parking space. Parking at the horse venue has traditionally been scarce.

I’m told by someone familiar with the probe that two golf carts were blocking a space for Harvey’s cream-colored Escalade. The carts, however, were removed by showgrounds security to make way for the victim’s car.

When Harvey and his wife Marjorie arrived to watch his daughter ride shortly after noon Saturday, he apparently got ticked off that “his” space was taken.

Harvey’s publicist has yet to comment.
