Football great and NBA analyst Ahmad Rashad has signed over the sole custody of his step-granddaughter to his socialite wife Sale Johnson, Gossip Extra has learned.
The move clears another hurdle for a quick settlement in Rashad’s yet-to-be-filed divorce from Jupiter resident Johnson!
It’s another story you won’t find anywhere else:
Court papers filed in Palm Beach County show multi-millionaire Johnson petitioned a family court to have Rashad stripped from his custody of six-year-old Ava-Monroe Johnson.
The NBA TV commentator Rashad and Sale were granted guardianship of the little girl in 2010, according to court papers.
Ava-Monroe was originally adopted from Kazakhstan by Los Angeles celebutante Casey Johnson – Sale’s daughter with previous husband, Johnson & Johnson heir Woody Johnson.
Casey was mostly known as the attention-starved, drug-addicted bisexual lover of reality TV actress and model Tila Tequila. Casey died at age 30 from a lack of insulin, and Tequila later expressed interest in getting custody of Ava.
Rashad and Sale eventually gained custody, and have been living with Ava-Monroe in Jupiter since.
Last week, however, Rashad signed a consent form that gives Sale full custody.
“(Rashad and Johnson) are separated and no longer live in the same house, and have contemplated a dissolution of marriage,” Sale’s petition for full custody reads.
Said a source familiar with the case: “This is part of the divorce negotiation. Sale was adamant that she wanted full custody before she’d sign a divorce decree.”
Two weeks ago, Sale Johnson reportedly deactivated Rashad’s access fob to The Bears Club, the Jack Nicklaus development where their marital home is located.
And she had Rashad escorted out of the golf community when he ended up in the clubhouse.
Neither Sale Johnson nor her lawyer, nor Rashad responded to requests for comment.
