The folks at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine traveled to where money lives over the weekend.

That put them at The Breakers in Palm Beach for the second annual “Solving the Neurological Puzzle” black tie fundraiser.
And 400 guests who paid up to $1,000 for seats came out to support research and clinical care for diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
According to JimĀ star Jim Belushi supplied the laughs and some Blues Brothers music. A year ago, late night host Jay Leno entertained the same crowd.

But why have a UM event at the Palm Beach resort?
Well, one of the chairs of the event was Palm Beacher and public health advocate Janet Levy! And there were plenty of Palm Beach philanthropists there, including Herme de Wyman Miro and Lois Pope.
At the tables: UM Prez Donna Shalala and Florida Board of Medicine Chairman (I guess that makes him the boss of Florida’s doctors) Zachariah P. Zachariah, a cardiologist.
