Rob Lopicola: Vote For Lois Frankel!

Rob Lopicola and Lois Frankel

BFFs? Then-West Palm Beach Mayor Lois Frankel and then-Channel 5 weatherman Rob Lopicola (via Webshots)

Professional politician Lois Frankel has never found a photo opportunity she didn’t like — and that can get downright embarrassing.

As mayor of West Palm Beach in the early part of the century, Frankel whined when I ran photos of her kissing a monkey. There was one of her holding a pig, too. She wasn’t fond of that one.

How is she going to explain this photo above obtained from the file-sharing website Webshots?

Here is the Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress with suspected pedophile Rob Lopicola at the 2005 Rainbow Ball, a yearly event thrown by the Metropolitan Community Church of the Palm Beaches.

Things changed especially for Lopicola, who was then a star weatherman at WPTV-Channel 5.

Lopicola was arrested in July and charged with four counts of sex with minors and lewd and lascivious conduct. He is accused of picking up underage boys online and meeting them for sex.

Lopicola is still being held in the county lockup on $130,000-bond.

Frankel hung up the phone when I called her to ask about her relationship with Lopicola.

How is a Pic from 2005 relevant? Was she supposed to predict that 6-7 years later he would be arrested? He worked for the WPTV, so he was a local personality. if the Pic was from last week this would be relevant. Oh and i am by no means a fan of Frankel, just think you are desperate for content

Lois is so corrupt in my opinion that she needs to be thrown in the same jail cell as Lopicola.
We need some real politicians and not stupid career ones that continually run for something like she has. She could not even make it as a lawyer.

Lois couldn’t make it as a lawyer? Really? She was a partner in two prestigious West Palm Beach legal firms.

And what’s your definition of a “real” politician, Mr. Whelan? Perhaps someone like Mitt Romney who has been running for president since gas was two bucks a gallon?

Na, Mit Romney is an idiot too. I don’t think he would make a very good president. Certainly not Obama. But on the other hand, I have been waiting for a cool guy to come around like Ross Perot. We need someone like him.

I don’t think Frankel would make good representation for us because she has a foul mouth and tells tax payers to shut up. That is why I think she should be flushed down the toilet.
She could not balance the books at city hall either.
She may have been a partner in some law firms, but in my opinion she must not have done a very good job if she did not stay there at them.

Some telemarketers make more than lawyers that have been practicing for 10 years. Perhaps she just became mayor because she wanted a job that pays well? That probably why she wants to become a Congress Woman as well I would think. She does not really care about the general public. She only cares about herself. Until I see otherwise with all the fake smiles she makes, I will continue to have these opinions of her, until she apologizes to the taxpayers that she told to shut up and then some.
Everyone can hear her being flushed down the toilet at http://www.Loisfrankelforcongresssucks.com

Loyalty and Reliability are what makes a person both personally and professionally.
I dont think she has neither!

Mr. Whelan, between this site and that of the Palm Beach Post, you have offered more than your share of “opinions” which, in my opinion (if you’ll pardon the pun) have done little more than reveal your own lack of professionalism and good taste.

Your link to the truly asinine http://www.loisfrankelforcongresssucks.com website is truly befitting of The Three Stooges or some other juvenile, potty-humored mentality. But since you claim that “loyalty and reliability” are the mark of a true professional, then should we suppose your lack of class and maturity in no way compromises your own professionalism?

You obviously don’t like Lois and I have no problem with that. She’s not always very likeable. But to suggest that she was not a good lawyer in the face of her success as a partner in prestigious law firms is to also suggest that perhaps you are not a very good advertising executive. You may not want her making decisions about national matters but there are those who might conclude from your commentary that they would not want you making decisions for them regarding advertising decisions.

As to the length of her tenure as a law partner – I would suggest that you look at our elected legislators at the state and national level. Most are lawyers. Should we then surmise that because they left law practices to seek elected office that they were no good at practicing law or that an elected position paid more? ‘Taint ncessarily so and your “logic” escapes me.

How’d you and your cowboy hat enjoy being flushed as well?!!! :-)

The problem with politics today is that they are all lawyers for the most part.
We need people in elected office like Joe The Plumber or Jesse Ventura.

Then something will get done. Until then, all the politicians can get flushed down the toilet for all I care. There is too much grid lock and BS going on in DC.
What do you think Lois is going to do to make that any different?
The only thing I would think Lois would be good at in my opinion is showing her nasty scowl that she has to the republicans! That may get some bills past, but not enough only because of her Scowl.

We need someone who can make a difference. I dont think she will.

By the way, my hat does need a good dust off! I am taking it over to the store later this week.

Come on, Jose, as someone who’s been at this game for more than a few years you surely know that ALL politicians seek photo ops. I know Lois and she is unquestionably larger than life in many ways, but she’s no different than any pol in seeking to get her mug in the paper.

Your references to her “relationship” with Lopicola aren’t worthy of a response from her. The photo was taken long before his “troubles” became known. For you or your hack Whelan to suggest in any way that Frankel supports his alleged activities is outrageous misrepresentation.

The city of WPB has the title for the fugliest mayors of all time. Between Frankel that has to sneak up on water to get a drink and that crazy eyed lady a term or two before her…damn.

I can’t believe you would use a seven-year old photo of Lois and Rob to demean the candidate, and now, US Representative! At the time, Rob was a popular TV personality, and was asked to MC part of the Rainbow Ball program. This shows Rob and Lois shortly after she received MCC of the Palm Beaches’ initial (and now quite prestigious) Ruby Slipper Award, for her dedication to the cause of the GLBT community. As far as I know, she had no personal relationship with Rob before then, and probably not afterwards. Use of this photo in this manner is in at least poor judgement.
