Channel 12 Names New Prime Time Anchor

Liz Quirantes will no longer have to look like your garden variety hottie stood up at the altar.

New WPEC anchor John Discepolo

Fresh meat: New WPEC anchor John Discepolo (Special to Gossip Extra)

More than a year after WPEC-Channel 12 canned longtime anchor Curt Fonger, leaving Quirantes to anchor many newscasts alone, the West Palm Beach/Treasure Coast CBS affiliate has named Fonger’s replacement.

John Discepolo, weekend anchor at the coffee city’s KOMO-ABC 4, is set to start at Channel 12 on September 24, according to TVSpy.

He’ll read the local news alongside Quirantes at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Discepolo knocked around New York City television until two years ago, when he moved to the left coast. He was sports director and anchor at WNYW-Fox 5 in NYC for five years.

“This is an incredible opportunity that came my way, and one that I could not pass up,” Discepolo told TVSpy.

lol ok dude. You are leaving a major city like Seattle which is a TOP 100 market to a crappy West Palm Beach station ,and a bottom dweller one at that, that is not even ranked in the TOP 300.

Welcome to the jungle, literally, where if the hear/humidity, hurricanes, or thugs dont get you, the old people will

This guy is a total ass. He pissed off so many people in Seattle and broke his contract. He will love crappy little WPB and less money. Enjoy rolling your own TelePrompter.
