Alan Jackson Loses Half a Million on Cottage

Country music star Alan Jackson has finally sold one of his two Martin County properties.
Records obtained exclusively by Gossip Extra show that the singer of It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere agreed to unload his four-bedroom cottage on the Intracoastal in Tequesta.
The buyer was Rhode Island dentist Lawrence Dario, and he paid $725,000 for the 2,000-square-foot crib.
Modest compared to Jackson’s beach mansion just east in Jupiter Island, the Key West-style cottage was on the market for nearly three years, with the price lowered four times.

Located off SE Federal Highway, it was first listed at $1.27 million — the price the Nashville star bought it for 10 years ago.
By my calculations, Jackson lost $545,000 on this deal!
The buyer is ecstatic for several reasons.
“The coolness factor is a 10,” said buyer Dario. “Ernest Hemingway wouldn’t have looked out-of-place in the living room.”
Dario said he found deep-sea fisherman Jackson’s 8-foot marlin in the kitchen intimidating and moved it outside.
“We also found one of Alan’s gold records,” Dario said. “Of course, we returned it.”
Jackson’s Jupiter Island beachfront mansion has been on the market for six months. Asking price: $14.9 million!
