The divorce of William and Lili Wilson, the Wellington couple whose son Scott Wilson was killed in a DUI accident that made national news, was quietly reopened last month as the Wilsons squabble over Lili’s alimony, Gossip Extra has learned.
Scott Wilson was killed in February 2010 when International Polo Club Palm Beach owner John Goodman ploughed into Scott’s car while blowing through a stop sign in rural Wellington.
Goodman was convicted of DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of the accident, and is under house arrest pending an appeal. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison in May.
The Wilsons, meanwhile, settled civil lawsuits with multi-millionaire Goodman and The Players Club, the last bar in which Goodman was seen before the crash.
And as Gossip Extra revealed exclusively, Goodman and the club’s owner ended up paying a total $46 million!
William and Lili, who were officially divorced in December 2007, split the money evenly.
Now, William has reopened the divorce case because he wants to stop paying his $2,500-amonth alimony to Lili.
William says Lili no longer needs his money since she’s got her $23 million from the settlements!
Lili’s response is due later this week.
Neither lawyers representing the Wilsons replied to an email seeking comment.
