Welcome Back, Kotter star Ron Palillo, who died unexpectedly at age 63 Tuesday, will be eulogized at a funeral mass scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Palm Beach Gardens.

Ron Palillo as Horshack
Best known for playing the high school kid Horshack who shouted “Ooooh, ooooh, Mr. Kotter” on the 1970s sitcom, Palillo moved to the Mirasol development in Palm Beach Gardens after accepting a teaching gig at the G-Star School of the Arts.
The West Palm Beach magnet school focuses on students interesting in television and movies, and Palillo taught acting for the camera.

Former Burt Reynolds Jupiter Theatre manager Karen Poindexter, a friend of Palillo’s, said Father Brian Flanagan will celebrate the mass, which is expected to include readings by some of Palillo’s students.
“There’s a private viewing this week,” Poindexter said, “and Ron will be buried in Cheshire, Conn., where he is from.”
Palillo is to be interred near his mother, who died recently at 102.
Palillo’s family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Arts Institute, PO Box 2457, Palm Beach, FL 33480.
