Chad Johnson’s Wife Files For Divorce!

Things are unraveling fast for NFL star Chad Johnson.

Just hours after he was arrested for allegedly head-butting reality TV star Evelyn Lozada, his wife of six weeks, Johnson was cut by the Miami Dolphins.

Then this morning, Lozada filed for divorce at the main Broward courthouse in Fort Lauderdale!

The terse filing by Davie attorney Michael Gilden mentions a pre-nuptial agreement between the two and the fact that the bonds of matrimony are “irretrievably broken.” It also says the two were married July 4.

“My only comment on the matter is that given recent events in my client’s life, she has decided to file for divorce and move forward with her life,” Gilden said in a prepared statement.

The wide receiver formerly known as Chad Ochocinco has yet to be served.

Johnson, 34, was arrested Saturday night after an altercation with Evelyn inside the couple’s tiny Smart car parked at their Davie crib. According to the police report, they were arguing about a receipt for condoms.

Lozada today commented publicly for the first time, saying that Chad ”needs help.” She described herself as “deeply disappointed” that he hasn’t taken responsibility for his actions.

Lozada says she hopes that by taking a stand, she will encourage other women to “break their silence” on the issue of domestic violence.
