VIDEO: With Davy Jones Gone, The Remaining Monkees Reunite For Tour

Believe it: The Monkees, the 1960s bubble gum band fronted by Davy Jones, are reuniting just months after Jones’ sudden death of a heart attack near his Indiantown horse farm.

The band, now made of just Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz, will play 12 dates in November and December in large cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and New York City.

No Florida date is planned at this point despite the fact that Jones made a point to perform in Indiantown yearly to raise money for schools.

The three remaining band members started talking about playing together again during a memorial for Jones, who passed away in February.With catchy tunes like Last Train to Clarksville and I’m a Believer, the poor man’s Beatles started out as a made-for-TV band in 1966.

    Jose, what would be the reason for avoiding south Florida other than a direct snub to Pacheco? But how does that explain not going to the Stuart, Indiantown area, further north of Miami. Pacheco is from the Hollywood, Miami area. Why snub Stuart/Indiantown where David lived and loved so many people? Theories?

      Not sure Jona. It’s definitely a diss but my experience with Davy’s people and Monkees staff is that they’re totally clueless. Some woman claimed she was a PR for Davy a few months ago and she sounded totally inexperienced. In all my years, I’ve never seen a less professional staff for any band.

    Nesmith was only doing the shows because Davy is not there to take the limelight away.
