Delray Beach Rape Suspect is Rising European Rugby Stud!

The 18-year-old Belgian tourist held in connected with the rape of a Delray Beach woman is a rising star of European rugby, Gossip Extra has learned.

Maxime Devignez, 18, is a standout of the rugby school of Carcassonne in the south of France, and is considered a future pro in the sport’s “prop” position.

Traditionally, a prop is one of the heaviest players on a team and is used as battering ram to advance the ball.

And Devignez’ weight is sure to become one of the elements of the case as he is accused of forcing himself on a woman as she slept on her bed.

The victim, who was not identified and whose age was not revealed, described her attacker as “quite large” and speaking an unknown language.

Devignez told cops he drank heavily before Sunday’s incident, and believed the woman was a prostitute. He was so drunk he told detectives he didn’t know exactly which part of her body he used in the sex assault.

He allegedly struck the victim in the face several times as she struggled, according to the police report. Her roomates found her bleeding profusely.

Devignez is from a French-speaking area near Brussels, Belgium. He is on that country’s national rugby team, the current European champs, and is currently being trained on the French Riviera to turn pro.

The latest entries on his Facebook page include a video of a 16-year-old girl getting beat up by four men and hidden camera footage of two high school students getting caught while having sex in the school bathroom.

Delray cops say Devignez was arrested Sunday after he fled the woman’s house and was reported by another resident as a prowler.

Devignez was charged with felony sexual assault and burglary and ordered held without bond.

Because he is a foreign national, he may have to remain in jail as his case works its way through the justice system.

An official with Devignez’ club, US Carcassonne, declined comment and said he had no idea Devignez had been arrested.

According to the arrest documents Devignez, nicknamed Big Max, was drinking at the Ugly Mug in Delray when he and a friend hooked up with locals, several men and his alleged victim who live together.

Devignez went back to their house and drank some more before heading the pool.

The alleged victim, meanwhile, went to bed in her bedroom.

She woke up later and found Devignez laying on top of her.
