Traditionally one of the summer’s biggest fundraisers, the Amigos For Kids‘ Domino Night lured more than 1,500 to Jungle Island Saturday in Miami for a night where paella, cigars, guayaberas and salsa dancing overshadowed some of the zoo island’s exotic stars!
In their 20th year, the Amigos’ goal is to prevent child abuse and neglect.

And once again, the group raised in excess of $200,000 with the unique fundraiser in which the guests, most of them wearing white, got to mingle with the island’s lemurs and snakes and parrots. The main event, of course, included playing dominos.
Among the notables: WSVN-Channel 7 anchorwoman Belkys Nerey and Miami Mayor Carlos Gimenez.
