Father’s Day: Chris Bosh’s Baby Mama Applies For Food Stamps!
Posted by Jose Lambiet , June 16, 2012 Print

Chris Bosh and Allison Mathis
As Chris Bosh prepares for the Miami Heat’s third game in the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, his baby mama has applied for food stamps, Gossip Extra has learned.
In her first interview about the legal battle that Bosh and former live-in galpal Allison Mathis have been waging in three states, Mathis’ lawyer tells me Orlando resident Mathis was laid off from her gig as a secretary in a construction company and this week applied for federal food assistance.
– For more of South Florida’s best sports gossip, click to register for the Gossip Extra dirt alerts
Mathis is also expecting to see her home go into foreclosure because the child support Bosh is paying doesn’t cover her mortgage!
What’s more, the tall-head’s request to take his and Mathis’ three-year-old daughter to London this summer to watch him play in the Olympics has been denied by an Orlando judge.
Happy father’s day, Chris!
But if you believe Mathis’ lawyer, there’s a good reason for the denial.
“He wants to take his daughter across the world for a photo op,” said Orlando family law attorney Jane E. Carey. “It’s just for a photo op. He doesn’t care. He hasn’t been decent to my client and his daughter.”
Carey talked publicly about the case for the first time today because, she says, she’s tired of the 28-year-old Bosh — who got married last year to Adrienne Bosh and recently celebrated the birth of their son.
For two years, the ball player has been battling Mathis in courts in Orange County (Florida), California and Texas on anything from child support to banning her appearance from VH-1’s Basketball Wives to how much time he spends with the child.
Things, however, have changed since Mathis lost her job.
Believe it or not, says Carey, Bosh pays her a mere $2,600-a-month in child support!
According to state guidelines, someone like Bosh whose yearly salary is in the $18 million-range should be paying about $30,000-a-month. So Carey asked a judge to adjust the child support.
Meanwhile, she says, Bosh shouldn’t be allowed to take a three-year-old to London for three weeks.
“My client just lost her job and applied for food stamps for her and Mr. Bosh’s daughter. She’s about to be foreclosed on, he won’t help her and all he wants to do is go to London with his daughter. Are kidding?”
Two lawyers in Orlando who rep Bosh did not return calls and emails requesting comment.

Wow, she gets $31,200 in tax-free child support from Bosh, and still can’t pay her bills! $31,200/year or $600/week is more than enough to support a child. Child support is to support the child, not the baby mama.
Now she’s publicizing her “food stamps” application in hopes of embarrassing Bosh. That’s pretty pathetic. Maybe she shouldn’t have spread here legs for a ball player before she got a ring on her finger.
metafly, 11 months ago
No She doesn’t get that at all. She get’s 2600 dollars. He had the baby with her and can afford to assist her. She had a job and was laid off. Stop folks.
metafly, 11 months ago
No She doesn’t get that at all. She get’s 2600 dollars. He had the baby with her and can afford to assist her. She had a job and was laid off. Stop folks. Same standard of living for both kids. No brainer.
jeff, 11 months ago
Nope, I don’t agree at all. HIS job is to take care of HIS child. The court ordered $2600 a month and that’s what he pays. It’s not HIS fault. Actually she’s just jealous of the wife and the newborn. It’s not his fault she got fired. BTW, Ms. Cary was the most unprofessional lawyer I’ve EVER witnessed this morning on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.
TM, 11 months ago
She does not get $31,000 p/mth, she gets $2,600 p/mth. Guildelines state that she should get $30,000 p/mth becaue of his salary. The article clearly states this.
IBM, 11 months ago
Get the facts right. She should get $30,000. She gets $2600. His wife’s shoes cost that.

I agree!
Ms. Kay, 11 months ago
I agree; 600.00 is more than enough to support a child. The money is for the child not to take care of the mother. Has anyone stopped to think why her mortgage is more than her child support? Living above her means may we say!!!!
txcmoe, 11 months ago
You’re an idiot. Read the story befor you comment dumb a$$!!!!!
Zofia, 10 months ago
You are an idiot. How dare you say that she can live off that miserable amount of child support. The whole point of childsupport is for the child to live just as good as the Noncustodial parent. What makes him so special that he can live better than his daughter. maybe you should go on a website and look up the guidlines and rules for childsupport.
IBM, 11 months ago
What a dead beat. How can any real “Man” what the roof over his daughters head be taken away. He should want the same standard of living for his daughter that he will give his new son.
Dustan, 11 months ago
First of all, it’s the mother’s fault that she’s losing her house and has to get on food stamps. Bosh has given her 31,200 dollars per year for three years ! That’s 93,600 dollars that are tax free ! If anyone should be ashamed, it’s her ! If she wants the child to have the same life style as Bosh, they she should stop being selfish and let the child live with Bosh, but that’s not good enough is it ? She wants the lifestyle too.
Rietta, 4 months ago
It’s not Ms. Mathis fault that she’s losing her home; she lost her job! It’s so sad that Mr. Bosh doesn’t hold his daughter & her mother in high regard. What’s worst is this behavior is an ongoing issue of black men having no respect for black women, their offspring by black women & community. Mr. Bosh blocked an employment oppurtunity for Ms. Mathis on Basketball Wives which I’m no fan of, but at least she would have made enough money to save her home.
Paul, 11 months ago
Come on your cheap bastard Chris, fork up a few thousand more per month
I think you can afford it with a take home of say One million per month.
TM, 11 months ago
I agree, Paul. If I were his wife, I would demand that he pays more than what he is. This is unbelieveable!

Exclusive???? This trash was run yesterday………. so again…….
Are we to feel sorry for her? She’s not a wife, she’s a girlfriend who got herself pregnant, I never got a dime, her lawyer is disgusting for seeking out media to trash talk. Baby Momma’s just jealous, she thought she had a cash cow using her child to get money…… and when the little girl grows up she will know that her Daddy loved her and tried and that Mommy blocked it….. who will she blame?? No doubt Bosh will take care of his child, but baby momma, $30,000 a month are you serious????? Hate to tell her, she won’t get Food Stamps, but she already knows that, that garbage was just for storytime! Shame on them!!!!
Also why did the media buy into this trash…….and now??????
IBM, 11 months ago
How the hell do you get yourself pregnant? They lived together. She didn’t have sex by herself. Perhaps some sex education 101 is something you should consider.
CB, 10 months ago
Great reply! What is the mother doing with a house that $2,600 per month won’t support? Her job as a must have been paying an executive secretary salary? I wonder how long was she working and how is her job search and status are now. Is her lawyer must be heping her with the Obama refiance program for thos ewho can’t afford payments and are facing foreclosure?
STAN, 11 months ago
Obviously, this woman was with Chris Bosh so that she could get things for herself, not because she wanted to be with Chris Bosh. No mother would deny her daughter such an opportunity for such a shallow reason unless she was upset about her own lack of payment from her “relationship” with Bosh. All this nonsense about what Bosh is unable to do with his daughter is directly driven by the mother. That is why there have been custody and support battles in three states–he’s been chasing her around the country so he can have a relationship with his daughter; she’s a skank who uses her child with Bosh to extort him. I hope she dies alone on the street at a very old age.

At first I was thinking wow. But then I thought about it… She has to take care of herself. A man that you never married cannot take care of you. Too many women want support because they bear children. Child support is for children and that is it. I hope this young lady is able to make it on her own successfully without thinking a man has to support her. The above comment is a bit tasteless.

This 3 year old was made by TWO…. Not just the mother! For all of the ugly remarks against this mother I pray none of you every have a daughter in the position of this mother. The comments of her opening her legs, dying old on the street, wanting someone to take care of her and none of you know the real story here. I am also listening to TJMS and J Anthony Brown is being redulicous as well. He is arguing with the baby mama’s lawyer. No one is surprised that Brown is making stupid statements and being very disrespectful because he always have a studied joke or something negitative to say about all women. This young lady is damn if she do and damn if she do not….Bosh is not right by giving this lady $2500.00 a month when he makes over 18 million a year. Bosh just pay the mother’s mortgage off, and allow your daughter the dignity your son has!! I suppose you will try and find the mother insane and take away her daughter like Wade did his wife! Money really do change these guys and they think they can do whatever they want. Bosh and the other’s must remember…what goes around, comes around. Ask Brandon Marshall!
Mother of 4 and step mother of 1, 11 months ago
Okay i have been on both sides of this situtation and I don’t know the whole story and no one ever will, but here’s my take from my own experience. The baby mama is being hateful and spiteful because there is a new baby around and it’s not her’s. She is jealous that another woman not only got the man and ring but has now beared a child. Why two monthes after this man welcomes his son into the world the daugther’s mother want to start bashing him. No one knows what Chris Bosh and his wife is doing for that child and you never will because the mother want him to look like the scum of the earth. Now if Mr. Bosh isn’t doing what he is suppose to do by his daughter shame on him and i hope he wake up and realize that it is his responsiblity to take care of his daughter as well as his son. But to want the man to pay $30,000 for child support just because you assume he makes$18 million is a bit much. I wish these baby mamma’s stop looking for the ball players and entertainers to support THEIR lavish lifestyle and not their children because these careers are not promised to them tomorrow and then where would the child be cause their mamma wanted to be greedy.
Another Mother, 11 months ago
For all of the ignorant comments made, step outside of your selfishness. If you were that kid and your father was a millionaire but you had to live on a budget and watch your mother struggle, how would you feel? If that was your new baby brother being born, going home to a mansion but your about to loose your home, how would you feel? The world is full of selfish people that make selfish, stupid comments about everything and can’t run there own life.
Mother of 4 and step mother of 1, 11 months ago
Selfish is not a fair statement no one knows what that man does for his daughter and NEVER will. No one knows why he was order to pay only $2600 a month. And yes his son goes home to a manison because that’s where he lives. Mo matter how you look at it these two children will never live the same lifestyle because they are from two different woman and no matter how much Chris pays in child support it’s NEVER going to be enough for the mother. Everytime she see’s that his son has something she’s going to want more it’s never going to end because her spending is never going to end now that’s SELFISH…
A mother, 11 months ago
I totally disagree with mother of 4 and stepmother of 1….
You talk like you know everything about Bosh! I do not know either one of these in this triangle. However, why are we so hard on this single mother and is allowing Bosh to live happily with his new baby and wife. Where is HIS responsibility? Why can’t his daughter have half the life style of her new brother. Why is it that everyone thinks she is a gold digger. How many Spanish and white girls are flocking toward these black players JUST BECAUSE they make millions…how many of these same Spanise/ white girls would date a Cris Bose if he did not have millions? Why is it always the black ladies who happens to have a baby with a boyfriend the gold diggers…let Bosh lose his career and his millions and see how fast the wife leaves him and put him on child support. Geeeeeeezzzzz

MsWoods, 11 months ago
He was orderd to pay $2600 but its his daughter and he doesn’t have to be compelled by any court to pay more that that. What about his responsibility to his daughter. It’s obvious he is being spiteful to the mother. He lived with this woman they had a child together. Now that he’s married I suppose it’s okay to give the minimum in child support, and try to take her child from her.

I don’t think people are reading this story correctly. She DID NOT ask for $30,000, it was stated that with the salary that he brings in – that is what she SHOULD be getting according to the Florida guidelines. As a mother (and also a step-mother), NO I would not allow my 3yr old daughter to go across the world without for 3 WEEKS! Her father is working, so it’s not a pleasure trip & therefore he won’t be able to spend real time with her. A man should want to provide for his child as best he can & anyone with children knows that $2600 a month isn’t squat when it comes to raising them. It’s in the best interest of the child for them to work it out.

I am divorced and my ex is putting me through the ringer. My fault for trusting. For years instead of paying online into the system I gave her cash and paid bills by writing the checks. One day after a few years of this, I get a call saying that I am behind with support. Well, I have receipts, the person on the other end started laughing. Told me receipts are no good unless SHE signs a affidavit saying what they are for. In his experience, no woman has ever signed it. True enough, she refused to do so. So the laptop computers, the tickets for vacation, school expenses, everything cash related or on a charge card or bills I paid, nothing. Now I take the blame for it. But my point is, there are thousands of men in this situation. Another point, child support and visits are two different things. So that is another lawyer and more court costs. So it is not easy for men who want to do right.
crsingleton, 11 months ago
If you read your legal paperwork, it should state that anything paid outside the state’s child support register is considered a gift. Many men (not necessarily yourself) make payments outside of court ordered guidelines to not have “anyone in my business”, but the fact of the matter is that these guidelines were put into place to make everything uniform for everyone. If you did anything outside of your childsupport and you know it went towards the betterment of your child’s life, what is the problem? Hell, Halle Berry is going to have to pay her baby daddy an additional $20,000/month for him to maintain the lifestyle that their daughter has become accustomed to and she won custody. Different states, different lawyers, different circumstances. In a perfect world none of this would be happening but it’t not perfect. It does not matter that there is a wife or another child, any man should want the best for his children no matter who the mother is. He chose her as the mother of his child. Get over the silliness and be a good parent.Pray for all these people and stop being judgemental.

Trying to Be a Good Father, 11 months ago
It is very easy to judge someone by the given. As some whom is paying support and trying very hard to be in the life of his child, I agree the mother should provide for herself. Point: she is receiving $2600.00 per month x 12 months (low by state standards) must be a reason, does not want their child to accompany her dad to Europe, and requesting an increase for support. Someone asked: “Why can’t his daughter have the life style of her new brother”, she can. If all is true, joint custody sounds go here folks. The child would receive the benefit of living the life style of her brother. The parents should consider JOINT COSTODY; it does not matter if they have different mothers, Bosh is their father. From the text, he is trying to due his part as a parent. Allow him to split the cost of raising his daughter mom. Nonetheless, I expect this is too simply for life and “Not in the best interest of the ones calling the shots…oops! I meant child”
George R. McCasland, National Moderator-Dads House Educational Center & Groups, 11 months ago
The child Support is not suppose to cover the mortgage, it is suppose to cover a portion of the cost of the care of the child. Only a portion of the child support is applicable to the cost of housing, but not when the mother wants to live in an overprice house to make herself look good.
Child Support is based on several factors, only one of which is his income.
http://childsupportrights.org/PayersNeed2Know
If she cannot afford to house the child, the answer is simple, give him custody.

More baby mama trash. I heard her silly lawyer on the Tom Joyner Morning Show…and Jay Anthony was right. I agree with Tom and Jay. To many tricks are chasing ball players hoping to get paid. He pays her what the state allows and he is NOT obligated to help the mother at all. He is only obligated to the child. Chris let the child go and one day she will come to you. Do not go thru too many changes with the mother. First was this a longtime girlfriend or a trick for a brief moment. Good luck Chris and stay strong.

What is the difference between a wife and a girlfriend…if each have a child with the man? You self righteous women need to take sex education. Both a wife and a girlfriend can get pregnant – and the man always plays a role. So a piece of paper doesn’t mean jack! Sorry to break it to you. You all think you are sooo special because you have a ring – a freaking ring?!?! HAHA. Those come off. Look at the divorce rate – rivals the break up rate doesn’t it? He is being cheap. I do think that you should be careful who you have a child with – married or not. I know my man would support me after a breakup no matter what – if I needed it (like she does now). I wouldnt expect it forever though. Good men help out when their babies home is at stake.
