Exonerated Orlando child killer Casey Anthony called CNN from her hideout last night — it was during coverage of the first game of the Miami Heat-OKC Thunder NBA Finals, so you probably didn’t see it — and admitted to being “ashamed” of the person she was at the time her daughter Caylee likely was murdered, four years ago.
Casey told Morgan she didn’t kill her daughter but felt “ashamed” of who she was, someone branded by the public as being more into partying than parenting. Anthony, however, denied being a “party-girl” but acknowledged to drinking beer while on probation and smoking pot years ago.
“There’s nothing in this world I’ve ever been more proud of, and there’s no one I loved more than my daughter,” Morgan said Anthony told him. “She’s my greatest accomplishment.”
Mason told the audience Anthony now lives in a “different kind of prison,” spending her time cooking, cleaning, reading, watching TV and movies and exercising but unable to go outside. Anthony, 26, is into The Hunger Games and old films of The Three Stooges, Mason said.
Anthony told Morgan she lied about Caylee’s disappearance because she didn’t trust law enforcement officials.
A jury found Anthony not guilty of first-degree murder and other charges last July.
Mason also disputed rumors that Anthony has put on so much weight that she is unrecognizable: “It’s doubtful she weighs 120 pounds,” he said.
