Some of the world’s top Latin entertainers — including plenty women on the verge of wardrobe malfunctions – gathered at the JW Marriott Marquis Saturday night downtown Miami for the 10th annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Angels & Stars gala.
Among the big names: Colombian singer Juanes and his actress wife Karen Martinez; Spanish heartthrob singer David Bisbal; Latin fusion Grammy winner Juan Luis Guerra; former MTV personality and commercial pitchwoman Daisy Fuentes; Latin news reporter and parenting specialist Jeannette Kaplun; Miami stylist Irma Martinez; Colombian telenovela stunner Maritza Rodriguez; singer Fonseca; Univision fashionista Rodner Figueroa; and baseball-star-turned-model and actor David Chocarro.
In all, over 400 donors attended the shindig — one of the rare fundraisers where the fun continues into the wee hours at an after-hour party that might as well have taken place in a South Beach nightclub.
St. Jude Children’s Hospital is a Memphis, Tenn.-based facility that specializes in the pediatric treatment for cancer and other catastrophic illnesses in clinics throughout the world.
With fundraisers in both Miami and Palm Beach, the non-profit draws millions from South Florida every year.
