Attorney David Prather arrested in DUI

Big deal West Palm Beach attorney David Prather was pinched by Florida Highway Patrol overnight and charged with drunk driving.

Details about the arrest are still sketchy, and officials aren’t returning calls on Mother’s Day.

But the website of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office shows Prather, 47, a partner in the law firm of Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Prather, Keen & Littky-Rubin, was released about 7 a.m. today on his own recognizance.

Records show he was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs.

Prather, who specializes in auto negligence and car accidents, sits on the Federal Magistrate Selection Committee, which recommends magistrates to the federal courts.

Officials with his law firm have yet to return calls for comments.

Prather also represented Jim and Muriel  Sitton when they filed a lawsuit against the parents of Thanksgiving killer Paul Merhige, who mowed down the Sittons’ family in 2009.

    Big shot? That’s laughable. This guy is an ambulance chaser. They are the used car salesmen of attorneys. Hope he learns a lesson. Sad to see this happen to anyone. Even sadder to know there are so many people out there that care only about themselves.

    We are all human and not perfect, just because he was stopped and charged does not mean he is guilty ,maybe a victim himself of racial profiling , very common nowadays. He has brought alot more good than harm to our community. I admire a person like him who has overcome obstacles to achieve what he has done in his life with many more healthy years to go. I say keep your head up and keep up the good work.Don’t listen to trash talk…I will pray for you.
