Palm Beach Conservative Website to a Democrat’s Rescue: The Morning Buzz

Posted by , May 1, 2012 Print

Here’s some good news for The Palm Beach Post: It has become a unifying force!

Consider this: The growing Conservative website BizPacReview.com is coming to the rescue of diehard Democrat Dave Aronberg against what it sees is a corrupt Post!

In this poisoned political environment, the elephant helping out the donkey against what it sees as a common enemy? Now, that’s breaking news!

Aronberg, by the way, is the former state senator whose candidacy for State Attorney stung Mike McAuliffe, the previous guy, so badly that McAuliffe quit his job and reelection campaign.

“Conservatives want fair and unbiased media coverage for everyone,” said Jack Furnari, one of BizPacReview’s board members. “New Conservative media outlets have a responsibility to expose shoddy journalism and baseless opinion wherever it’s found, even when it’s about a Democrat.”

Something new and different!

Furnari’s stand came as a response to Post story by Stacey Singer and Joel Engelhardt in which they expose an apparent conspiracy by Aronberg and prominent Democrats to discourage others to run for State Attorney. Among the more damaging allegations, the Post pointed out alleged blackmailing of a sitting judge, Krista Marx.

Well, Furnari went back to most of the Post‘s sources for the story, including Marx, and managed to punch quite a few holes in the paper’s theory.

Cards on the table: I worked with Engelhardt and Singer for more than a decade, and I know them both as grade-A professionals.

Furnari’s argument, however, is well worth a read: Click here for the bizpacreview.com story

    Jack Says:
April 5th, 2012 at 12:07 pm I hope Jack is correct. He thinks John Goodman will get a retrial (or at least he should) but the determining factor won’t be the “wealth bias” (which was the lesser of the 3 major errors cited in the motion for retrial). Not surprising that the PBP chose to publish only the sensationalized “wealth bias” issue out of the whole motion…kinda speaks exactly to what Black suggests in the motion…media obscuring the facts and choosing only those which will spur class hatred against Goodman. Such a disgrace of a paper. Try reporting facts for once. All the facts, not just the ones which fit conveniently with your story. Or did you miss the part of the motion mentioning the serious legal errors including but not limited to – state paid witnesses, suppressing evidence, improperly releasing a key witness from subpoena? Convenient. The fact that all those errors were clearly cited, very clearly unlawful, and backed up with substantial case law wouldn’t fit with your story of David vs. Goliath, rich vs. poor huh? And Justice for All says—just look at all of your comments in the “COMMENT SECTION” just to prove most of you are guilty of “wealth bias”. You just want to throw him in jail BECAUSE he is rich! You don’t even want to hear the facts! Your minds are made up! Shame on all of you.

Mr. Goodman did not get a fair trial. Judge Colbath should be removed and imprisoned for putting on such an unfair and biased trail. Shame on you Judge Colbath! We (the taxpayers) pay your salary, Judge Colbath, and your healthcare, and pension too. We should get our money back….you did bad job.
Judge Colbath you are guilty of malpractice.
Judge Colbath you are out of order…the whole system is out of order.
This judge should be tarred and feathered! AND sentenced to prison for the rest of his life!!!! Also I just want you to know that the state (taxpayers) paid for the first shame trial…and as a taxpayer I am furious to think that we will have to pay for another trial.

Also it’s a shame that Mr. Goodman had to pay The Black Law firm for the first trial and now perhaps if he gets a new chance for a new trial, Mr. Goodman will have to pay The Black Law firm AGAIN for another trial.

And then we have the Wilson’s and the Searcy Law firm dividing up their $46,000,000.00!!!!!! Lotto!!!

And Justice for All????? What a joke!

I’m so glad to find Jose Lambiet is still alive and bringing on the blunders of PBC citizens. I never thought I’d miss a gossip writer, ever, but I almost cry when I turn to page two and (gasp. sob. sniff.) he’s no longer there. Now I’ll be thrilled once more, to hitch onto this site. Thanks, Jack, for forwarding!

I remember walking behind Art Johnson one day during a school board meeting and noticing that he was reading Jose’s column. I mean, what can be more important than that?

Glad to see you are in my life again, pumping out good stories.

Even though I’m a life-long Republican, I’ve always had a fondness for the demeanor and ability of Dave Aronberg since the day since I went to his first Meet and Greet at Judy Hyman’s house. At that point he was only looking to run for the state congress.

I’ve read enough of the Biz piece to know it’s crap. It blatantly misinterprets the Post’s editorial responding to Aronberg. When the editorial said the piece was deeply reported and contained numerous quotes from those involved, it relied chiefly on Chief Judge Blanc; it also went through the other people who went on the record. Yes, Judge Marx did actually go on the record. But the editorial wasn’t making the claim that Judge Marx herself was the source for the events in which she was involved. As for the Biz’s criticism of using anonymous sources — duh. Every newspaper on the planet uses anonymous sources. That itself does not undermine an article’s reporting. And, yes, Aronberg and his team were deeply afraid of any real competition. It’s called “leaving nothing to chance.”
