The Young Friends of the Kravis Center’s yearly Dancing With The Stars-like contest turned into a nail-biter between two competitive TV personalities Saturday night at the West Palm Beach performing arts mecca.
WPBF-Channel 25 newbie Erin Guy did a rousing souped-up waltz in which she was ripped out of her basketball outfit by pro partner Greg Kranz. And flamboyant WPTV-Channel 5 weatherwoman Kait Parker, with partner Eric Ocando, killed with a cha-cha.
In the end, the two received the same points from the three judges, MASH actress Jo Ann Pflug, ballet photographer Steven Caras and socialite/actress Mia Matthews.
The tie-break was decided by applause from the 500-plus in the audience, and Guy took the Reach for the Stars silver disco ball.
Honorable mention for the third-place Jeri Muoio, the mayor of West Palm Beach. She did a pasodoble, a dance that imitates bullfighting, with pro partner Angelo Caruso.
Game face on, Mayor?
Muoio described it as a “mean dance,” and it didn’t take much of an effort for her to make a mean face throughout. She just thought about the city commission!
