The stories making noise this A.M. in South Florida:

– If you believe Casey Anthony should have been convicted last year of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, then blame ABC for Anthony being out and about these days. Jose Baez, Anthony’s former lawyer, confirmed this week that Anthony received a whopping $200,000 from the network, which she spent on her defense. TV network get around their policy of not paying for access to sources by buying for exorbitant amounts things like personal videos and photos. Baez told PBS’ The Real CSI the money was used to challenge the prosecution’s forensic experts. (Click here for more from Orlando’s News 13)

– Palm Beacher Malcolm Glazer, the billionaire owner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is making a killing on his debt purchase of a European soccer team. Glazer’s Manchester United in England gained 20 percent in value last year, partly because it won the championship, partly because it counts on a 330 million worldwide fan base. Glazer bought the Red Devils in a series of debt transactions in 2004 and 2005. At the time, it was worth $1.4 billion. The new valuation means that, on paper at least, Glazer made $420 million! (Click here for more from Forbes)

– And speaking of wealth, rapper/producer/actor Sean Diddy Combs, who lives part-time in a 20,000-square-foot Miami Beach house assessed for $13.5 million, is the musical genre’s richest cat! Diddy’s worth jumped to $550 million, ahead of hip-hop stars Jay Z and Dr. Dre. (Click here for more from Forbes)
