$46 Million Paid to The Family of John Goodman’s Victim

One of the legal community’s worst kept secrets became public when it popped up in court records this week.

The family of motorist Scott Wilson, 23, was paid a total $46 million — You read right! – to settle all lawsuits resulting from Scott’s death in an accident caused by Wellington polo mogul John Goodman!

Goodman, 48, was drunk at the time then fled the scene. He is to be sentenced April 30.

The money paid to the Wilsons, meanwhile, came mainly from two sources: the insurance carriers for The Players Club, the watering hole that last served Goodman before the crash, $6 million; and Goodman’s personal liability insurance, $40 million.

According to court records, all litigation between Wilson’s parents, Lili and William Wilson, were dismissed on April 3. The settlement was supposed to remain confidential.

Gossip Extra readers, however, have known some of this for a while! Back in February, Gossip Extra scooped the rest of the press by announcing the $6 million award. And on April 3, a story about the settlement mentioned that the Wilsons had asked for $50 million from Goodman’s insurance carrier.

That amount represented the maximum amount of liability coverage for Goodman.

A source close to the negotiations, however, tells me tonight that the Wilsons relented after receiving the money from The Players’ Club.

Lili Wilson would have gotten every last dime from Goodman and whoever else. I only blog this because I KNOW that slimy Searcy law firm reads these blogs and subsequently has kept her from conducting her ever so frequent media interviews and also now amidst speculation has said Lili Wilson “may” use the money to do something to honor her son. I won’t hold my breath on that….me thinks her lack of friends (hello Searcy law firm being the only ones ever around) and those pesky rumors about new luxury wheels, wardrobe, cosmetic/beauty procedures…. I do hope at least a few million can go towards philanthropy/honoring Scott’s memory. My close friends lost a son a year younger than Scott and received (nor sought) no financial reward. No amount of money can bring a child back and to seek financial reward from a child’s death and then use it to better your own life. Sick.

John Goodman is an innocent man. He was not a drunk driver.
He did not see another car or another person….that is why he did not call 911 for help.

I am SURE the Wilson’s will use every last penny of the $46,000,000.00 towards philanthropy honoring Scott’s memory. Also I expect The Searcy Law Firm to use the money they get towards philanthropy honoring Scott’s memory.

Maybe all of you “RICH PEOPLE HATERS” out there will now “HATE’” the Wilson’s and The Searcy Law Firm NOW THAT THEY ARE SOOOO RICH !!!
I am sure you will all DEMAND that the Wilson’s and the Searcy Law Firm use all of that money for the right reasons…….we can DEMAND it we taxpayers paid the bill for the court case.

And remember this was an accident. John Goodman was NOT a drunk driver. He did NOT call 911 because he did not see another car or another person.
