Ex-Miami Dolphins Star Kenny Mixon’s Galpal: He Beat me Over St. Valentine’s Dispute!

Former Miami Dolphins defensive end Kenny Mixon was arrested yesterday at home in Weston in connection with a smackdown with his girlfriend.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Mixon was driving away when he was stopped by a deputy on his way to the house to respond to the girlfriend’s 911 call early Sunday.

Mixon, who is 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, is accused of throwing the woman, Trina Zawaski, into a mirror then to the ground. He allegedly chocked her while kicking her in the right thigh. Zawaski suffered abrasions to the elbow, knee and neck but declined treatment.

Mixon told police the violence occurred as the two argued over St. Valentine’s Day. He claims he was punched and scratched by the live-in — but deputies didn’t see any injuries on Mixon’s body.

Mixon, 36, was charged with domestic battery.

Mixon and Zawaski live together, along with a chihuahua named Gucci.

He was drafted by the Fins out of Louisiana State University in 1998 and played for the Dolphins for four years before moving on to the Minnesota Vikings.

A former teammate of Mixon’s, former Fins wide receiver James McKnight, was arrested in October in nearby Miramar, also in a domestic violence incident.
