Off-The-Hook: Ex-WRMF Star Danny Czekalinski Escapes Cocaine Prosecution!

Overzealous Palm Beach County Sheriff‘s deputies likely doomed the prosecution of ex-WRMF-97.9 FM morning jock Danny Czekalinski, his lawyer tells Gossip Extra – and now Czekalinski is home free!

Czekalinski, 47, was arrested at Foster’s Too pub Jan. 6 in West Palm Beach when drug enforcement deputies allegedly found a baggie of the white powder and some pot in his shirt pocket.

As he faced a felony possession rap, prosecutors declined to pursue the case.

“People make accusations about others every day,” Czekalinski wrote in a statement. ”I know that we all make mistakes.  I am not the type of person to judge others.  I’m happy to put this behind me.”

Czekalinski’s lawyer, Robert Norvell, said there were inconsistencies in the police report. Mostly, Norvell said, deputies didn’t have enough of a probably cause to throw Czekalinski against a bathroom wall and search his pockets.

“You just don’t corner a man in the bathroom and toss him around because of how he smells,” Norvell said. “Danny was at the wrong place at the wrong time. The deputies were probably bored and they found someone they wanted to interact with.”

According to the arrest report, deputies working near the watering hole claim they smelled a “strong odor of marijuana” emanating from Czekalinski as he walked by. Czekalinski caught the lawmen’s attention earlier because, the report shows, a passerby reported saw Czekalinski stumble in the parking lot and brought it to their attention.

Witnesses claim several deputies burst into the pub’s bathroom as Czekalinski relieved himself and threw him against a wall. His mugshot showed a bruise on the right side of his head.

Czekalinski was fired from WRMF about a year ago and is looking for radio work. His slot alongside Jennifer Ross and Deena Lang was finally filed last month with former Seaview-960 AM star Joe Raineri.
