PBSO Drug Scandal: Ex-SWAT Lt. Dan Burrows Out on $9,000-Bond

Palm Beach County Sheriff‘s Lt. Dan Burrows was just released from the custody of his police agency after securing a $9,000-bond.

Former SWAT commander Burrows, 47, stands accused of stealing a rifle and pain killers from former subordinate Mike Collester –just 10 days before Collester died of cancer!

Burrows was charged with possession of drugs, two counts of theft and exploitation of a disabled person.

    Scum and other bad words come to mind when you see a crooked cop and for some reason they think they are bullet proof and except from the Laws of God & Man .
    Bad you steal but to steal from a dying co worker ?
    I walked on the thin blue line for 23 yrs and retired to be forgotten by all you served but that is how it should go and not be the 5% that make us all look bad. I just hope God forgives this bad cop.

      Man , stop jumping on the bandwagon. You don’t know the whole story. None of us do. There might be some explanations or information that we don’t know. Since you walked on the “thin blue line”, you should know better!!!

    BROTHERHOOD! Do you know what that is? A 1911 SHOOTER, you sound like a real idiot and Jim C, you sound like a washed up “Has Been” who could not make the 25, or took disability! GIVE THE GUY A BREAK. HE WAS THE SWAT COMMANDER, WITH EXTENSIVE TRAINING AND RESPONSIBILITY. Are you perfect? How many commendations are in your washed up file. We all make mistakes, and like Tom wrote: Stop jumping on the bandwagon. You don’t know the whole story. None of us do. There might be some explanations or information that we don’t know. Since you walked on the “thin blue line”, you should know better!!! The truth will prove this incident was blown way out of proportion at the start of the Sheriff’s re election campaign. When the dust settles, I think that he will return to work, but in a new capacity. GIVE THE GUY A BREAK, HE HAS BEEN SWORN ALMOST TWENTY YEARS, AND DEVOTED HIS LIFE TO SERVING THE COMMUNITY. If you really were an LEO, you would understand the stress of the job. I IN NO WAY CONDONE WHAT DAN MAY HAVE DONE, BUT I AM NOT PERFECT, WILL NEVER BE PERFECT YET KNOW THAT IF I NEED HELP, I COULD TURN TO ANY FELLOW LEO, ACTIVE OR RETIRED, AND KNOW THEY WILL HELP ME, NOT CRITICIZE ME LIKE A PIECE OF YESTERDAY’S TRASH I LOCKED UP LAST WEEK. Thanks for all your support. Do you always kick fellow LEO’s when they are down???

    This man stole from my father, he was my dad’s best friend for as long as I can remember. It kills my sister and I that he could possibly do something this horrible to my dad. The day he did this, was the day my father stopped eating, drinking, talking, walking, etc. He passed away two weeks later. Scumbag is right. But please do not clasify him with the rest of the heroes out there that do the right thing and take their jobs seriously! My father was an amazing man. As well as his other co workers. RIP dad.
