He was held overnight and released from the county lockup shortly after lunch today on $100-bond. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damages. Anderson, who lives in Pembroke Pines, has yet to hire an attorney.
One of the most gifted point guards ever to come out of the New York City playgrounds, Anderson is believed to have made $60 million in his 14-year NBA career, which also included stints with the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers.
He is, however, practically broke and made news last year for graduating at 40 from St. Thomas University in Miami. Anderson currently coaches basketball at the David Posnak Jewish Day School in Davie.
