Mobster Lewis Kasman’s Ex-Wife: My Divorce Lawyers Ripped me Off!

The ex-wife of Lewis Kasman, ex-business manager of dead New York City gangland figure John Gotti and his Gambino crime family, is suing her divorce lawyers.

In a malpractice and theft lawsuit filed today in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, Eileen Kasman claims the high-profile Boca Raton firm of Weiss, Handler, Angelos and Cornwell ripped her off during her two-year divorce from Lewis. Partner Henry Handler and attorney Carol Kartagener are also named as defendants.

Lewis is actually helping his ex-missus in the lawsuit, and may even be a witness. That could be a problem since Lewis, Gotti‘s godson, is trying to fly below the radar. In order to stay out of jail, Lewis reportedly turned FBI informant and ratted out Gotti‘s son, John A. Gotti Jr. The latter is living a suburban life on Long Island after three mistrials.
“They (the lawfirm) basically charged her whatever my ex-wife was entitled to in the divorce settlement,” Kasman told Gossip Extra by telephone. ”And that’s $500,000! They made her believe I had all this cash when I didn’t.”
Eileen Kasman‘s lawyer, Bennett Cohn, sent a claim letter to Weiss Handler before preparing the lawsuit. He was asking for $1.5 million! Among his allegations: That Kartagener ran up the tab with unnecessary expert witnesses, lied to judges and had Lewis sent to jail for nine days for no good reason.
Among the witnesses expected to be called to testify: Lewis’ divorce lawyers Joel Weissman and Barry Roderman as well as Judge Martin Colin. The lawsuit could be embarrassing for the latter since Colin was forced to recuse himself from the case. He had strong ties to Weiss Handler that weren’t revealed immediately, including that Handler was on his election committee.

Attorneys are just like the rest of society, has its good and bad, BUT, Weiss Handler IS, has been, and will remain to be one of the most prominent law firms in south Florida. This firm had to bear the burden of representing a woman who was married to a person of questionable charachter; a guy that was convicted of many felony crimes including perjury, so whom are the courts to believe?? A staunch credible law firm, or a self admitted criminal involved with a crime family??

Bennett S. Cohn is a EXCELLENT attorney! Fully aware of the 4th DCA in BAEZ and all the CORRUPTION by Weiss Handler and the “GANG in Boca, South County ( Judge Martin H. Colin). Its about time WEISS HANDLER be held accountable to there unethical and criminal behavior. Certainly the “JQC” and the “FEDS” are watching this case. Ms. Kasman will get her day in court….. Upon reading the Complaint – Handler & Kartagener should be JAILED!

If Mrs. Kasman calls Psycho Jay Gordon, her case will obviously be tanked. And what could he know of billing disputes between the wife and her lawyers anyway. Plus, it is insulting to the civil manner is which we want lawsuits to take place to gross up the issues as involving “crime family” and JQC and FBI and all that old junk. Sounds like Psycho Jay Gordon and Ray Baez and the rest of these disturbed people are out to hurt Mrs. Kasman’s lawsuit.

Everyone knows why he is called “psycho” Jay Gordon. He is a crybaby and a persistent scofflaw. His son is so disgusted that his father is a bum and would not even pay child support, that the son disavows having “psycho” as a father. Look at “psycho” Jay’s life; an utter failure. Does it sound like a good lawyer such a Bennett Cohn will want to align himself with “Psycho” Jay. Kasman is too smart to have that happen.
